The Easy Load Ramp System-Extra Long Wide is designed to load a recumbent trike or hand cycle into a van, SUV or pickup truck. This system is exactly the same as the the ELRS-XL except the Wheel Channels and Ramps are 5” wide to accommodate trikes and hand cycles with fat tires. The ELRS-XLW makes use of the trike transporting vehicles 2″ receiver hitch. A 1.25″ receiver hitch may be used with a converter to 2″.
The ramps telescope from a stowed length of 4′ 6″ to a maximum length of 8′. There are also stops and 5′, 6′, and 7′. The 8’ ramps greatly reduce the “push effort” up the ramps. Each ramp has a 2′ folding ramp extension to bridge the gap between the Ramp Support “T” bar and the floor of the SUV or van. If the ELRS-XLW is being used to load a trike or hand cycle into a pick-up truck the Receiver Hitch Insert and “T” Bar are longer and taller to accommodate the lowered tailgate. Some larger/taller SUV’s may also require the taller “T”.
